Adult Antidepressants Suspects in Suicides of Canadian Kids
Powerful antidepressant and antipsychotic drugs approved only for use in adults are suspected of harming - in some case killing - Canadian children. Though Health Canada and the drug makers acknowledge the drugs are not approved for use in anyone under 18, doctors - often general practitioners with little psychiatric training - are prescribing these medications with little oversight.

Amnesty International Calls on Canada to Stop Violations
Anmesty International has called on Canada to stop the violation of human rights in the country, particularly with respect to the rights of indigenous peoples. In a report released yesterday, the humanitarian organization highlighted that three United Nations reviews conducted in 2012 all found a wide range of human rights abuse, especially for indigenous peoples. International Youth Mental Health Conference
The Second International Youth Mental Health Conference will be taking place at the end of September in Brighton, UK. The conference aims to identify gaps in service provision, and promote more effective interventions and models of care for young people with mental health issues.
